One meter, one billing account — not one person, and not reliably one house. A single-family home is usually one customer, but a "1 customer" outage could also be an entire apartment building or strip mall on a single shared meter. Every utility we track reports at the meter level, not the person level.
Florida's grid has small outages happening constantly — a car hits a pole, a squirrel gets somewhere it shouldn't. Most of what you see here is that ordinary background noise, not storm damage. The map's Historical Pattern view reflects each county's real long-run weather-match record, not just today's count.

Broward County has the most customers out right now, with 188. By percentage, Suwannee County is hit hardest, at 0.25% of its tracked customers.
We track 16 utilities live across Florida. Florida Power and Light Company has the most customers out right now, with 539. Talquin Electric Cooperative, Inc. has the highest share of its tracked customers affected, at 0.05%.
Some of our sources (incident-level feeds without a reported customer base) are counted in every "customers out" figure above but left out of every percentage figure - we won't guess at a number we don't actually have. Combined-territory sources report one total across several counties at once, so their number is counted statewide but can't be broken out by county on the map.

A county with a thin or short real history may show nothing here even during real severe weather right now — absence isn't the same as "safe."
Heat Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings are ordinary National Weather Service alerts — the same public feed used for hurricane and tornado warnings — just for sustained extreme heat instead of storms. They're not per-county, either: a single county can get split into multiple independent NWS zones, each with its own advisory.
